I don’t think they are misinformed. They just hate Jews and by claiming these atrocities are lies they have the veneer of respectability. They can claim they are supporting the “oppressed” Palestinians as cover for their lethality. We know this is the case because their only connection to Palestinians is their antipathy towards Jews. To me it’s glaringly obvious.

I agree with you Dena, but I do wonder if they are so self unaware that they actually believe they are in the side of good. I feel maybe this is the case. Interested to know what you think?

Indoctrinated to believe that every problem in the world is caused by colonialism, the patriarchy, anything to do with western civilisation. Apparently no other civilisations ever existed. Deeply imbedded in their own sanctimonious, self righteousness & gaining the approval of their peers. They honestly think that they impress barbarians like Hamas that they support. They don’t appear to have read any history about what happens to people like them when people like Hamas win the fight.

I'm sure they do believe they're on the side of good, but so have so many evil people throughout history (Nazis, Communists, the Inquisition etc.). As Israeli journalist Haviv Rettig Gur has said, antisemitism is a belief that Jews are the ultimate evil standing in the way of utopia. It automatically comes with a feeling of self-righteousness. This is what we see here.

Thank you so much for this, Kelli. CF and CH make me sick to my stomach. I can't bear to think about the number of people (mostly young women) they've grossly misinformed and turned into antisemites over the past 15 months - under the guise of being 'feminists' and 'humanitarians' and caring about 'minorities'. This is EXACTLY how the German people were brainwashed in the 1930s leading up to the... well, you know. A Hella Cost!

Elly I agree with you. A dear friend of mine asked me how and why Jew hate has risen up, and it’s largely the irresponsibility of cretins like this, that have infected a new generation with misinformation. It makes me so angry.

Wouldn’t it be justice to let these people live in an real Islamic society for a year (to be kind) to see what they believe afterwards?

Yes. Also give them a year in Gaza.

I can’t understand why any so called feminist would back anything radical Islamists say or do. Islam is the essence of misogyny, beginning when young girls have their clitorises removed. When girls grow up in Islamic culture they become literal slaves of their husbands, required to do their bidding including having sex ( which they are unable to enjoy) on demand for the husband’s pleasure and to get pregnant and bear children on command. Is it any wonder that Hamas terrorists would rape and degrade Israeli women? They are not only women but they are Jews, not even considered human by these scum. Somehow the Marxist left feels affinity for Muslims, buying into the false notion of Islamophobia. In truth, it’s not phobic to fear a religion as warlike and misogynistic as Islam. From its inception the Prophet instructed followers to kill all infidels who would not convert. This practice persists today, explaining Islamic terrorism, which kills innocents worldwide indiscriminately constantly

Because they are hypocritical frauds who are so privileged they can’t possibly imagine that “brown” oppressed men could possibly do any wrong. They are racist and they are traitors to their own cause. Truly the worst of humanity.

It's "intersectionality," where people are separated into either victims or victimizers. It's hard to explain, but there is plenty online about it and how corrosive it is.

Well written Kelli. Hope you got it all out. There may be no cure for any of this until the chickens come home to roost in Australia. They will not learn, understand, repent or say I was wrong until their own skin is in the game. It beggars belief, but look at the latest report about the cease fire deal from people like Chris Hedges - former NYT political analyst - and the one dimensionality is breathtaking. Hating Israel is an addiction, it’s a dopamine, it’s an obsession.

It’s attention seeking. They have nothing else going for them, so promote these lies to give themselves a platform. It’s a look. These retards are not feminists. They are self serving low-lives. I just hope for a time when they have a realisation or a comeuppance, but they would simply jump on the next bandwagon. Scum. They have done womenfolk such a disservice. They don’t give a shit. Social media was made for trash like this.

Clementine Ford and Constance Hall, I would submit, are NOT misinformed. What they are, actually, is unrepentant, proud Jew-haters. They are the Australian face of the Hate-Jews/Israel left. If a jew says it, they MUST be lying (unless, of course, it's a self-hating Jew like Bernie Sanders). That's who they are. That's who many of the Israel-haters really are. To listen to them, you'd think that there was no antisemitism before 1948. Hmmm, what did they think happened at Auschwitz just a few years earlier? Were the Nazis singing kumbaya with the Jewish prisoners there?

I am so, so sick of Ford, Hall and their ilk. They are beneath contempt.

Hard to read some of this - it gets truly depressing. I have been wondering if there’s a psychological disconnect at work, though.

To elaborate (though I stress that none of this excuses any appalling behaviour):

The current cultural moment requires that we become tribal and abide by all rules of our chosen tribe. Implicit in this is that anyone holding *any* opposing viewpoint is to be attacked, even if they agree with the group on every other point. They therefore become a scapegoat (as identified by René Girard et al.) and that puts them beyond the pale of human decency of compassion.

This is of course, to put it politely, at odds with any workable adult version of reality.

But, here’s the kicker: I don’t think that people attacking political opponents actually see any real world implications. It’s all about the winning of an abstract argument and the kudos attendant on such a “victory”. Real life is just a collection of stage props. Actual flesh and blood (in a very literal sense here) isn’t of importance to their project. I suspect that’s why they choose as their causes célèbres conflicts and other events that are geographically distant: that makes them easier to abstract and thus fair game as an instrument with which to push buttons.

And so it makes possibly otherwise decent people behave like appalling public shits and the smug (inaccurate) canting we see is the logical telos. Depressing, as I said.

Thank you (again!) for ploughing through the dross and highlighting the hypocrisy - I don’t think I could face it myself. I don’t need that much anger in one go. Stay well.
