If Israel ceased to exist, there still wouldn't be peace in the Middle East

All the right questions.

The Middle East is so complicated, but let me humbly try to simplify.

Israel is you. The Palestinians are Ted Bundy. The West is the local Sheriff.

The Sheriff will ensure that when Ted breaks into your apartment from the shanty he's built on your back porch (which poor misunderstood Ted seems to attempt daily and succeeds almost daily) that he will probably badly rape and maim you, but the Sheriff will probably stop him from fully killing you. Probably.

The Sherriff will also help you equip your apartment with better door locks and install security cameras here and there, but sternly cautions you that while he supports your right to armed self defence, under no circumstances does that defense allow you to pursue Ted with that handgun you legally own and have in the required gun safe. But the Sheriff's support for your self-defence is 'iron clad'. So Sheriff mandates Nerf bats as a proportionate response to Ted's behaviours. But not the 2000-lb versions.

You are however fully permitted to scratch Ted around the eyes while he's raping you, but not 'indiscriminately' or directly in the eyes. You must also never pursue Ted onto the back porch and certainly not into his shanty. That would be 'over the top'. That would be you escalating the whole situation. So just lie back while he violates you and think of England or a place in Israel if you really insist, but it better be well inside the Green Line and have a lot of Ted's cousins in it and votes Labour and hates Ben-G'vir.

Over the decades of 'living' with Ted on your back porch, you've tried everything carrot and stick to get his to stop raping you. But to no avail. Poor, oppressed Ted just can't help himself.

A thought comes into your mind now and then and, in some of your clearer moments where you don't self-edit and shrink from voicing it, you quietly propose that instead of killing Ted, or even arresting him, perhaps the Sheriff could just require Ted to move to the east side of the county, you know, on the other side of the river that runs through the county north to south.

This hasn't been tried before and would just allow you to put up enough razor wire on your side of the river to keep Ted at a safe distance where Ted's ground-launched rapes are no longer possible or you'd at least have sufficient lead time to call the Sheriff if Ted just can't contain himself.

Ted's family is everywhere on the east side the county anyway, he should fit right in. Heck, you'll even to pay for Ted's relocation, job training to start a new life there, and the cost of the tent he slept in on your back porch all those years.

The Sheriff, not to mention the entire city council, immediately condemns you as a 'racist colonist ethnic cleanser' for even suggesting this vile hate-plan and immediately sends more money, food, and bigger tents to Ted. The Sheriff and council also re-affirm Ted's right of resistance and self-determination for himself and his progeny in perpetuity through the establishment of still more tents on your back porch even though they declare repeatedly that Ted openly declares that he will continue his rape-o-rama until the sun blows up.

I hope this clarifies all the geo-political complexities.

Welcome to Israel!

Its interesting that ive seen none of the Palestinian single state supporters ever talking about how this state would work, so it was nice to read your take on that, and i think you are being quite optimistic! This new single state Hamas government will also have the benefit of being handed all of the military equipment of the ( former) Israel. Which I can really see as bringing a sense of stability to the region. Something none of the "river to the sea" chanters seem too concerned about, but I guess they are safe on the other side of the world.

Thanks for reading David. The river to the sea crew live in some fantasy world where the Palestinians are gentle peace loving people who just need the evil Israelis gone to live a free constrictive life.

That’s because they don’t know how to run a state. They don’t understand that freedom requires responsibility and ownership of your own shit. They are so perpetually corrupt that the concept of accountability is as foreign to them as it gets.

By the way I do believe that Palestine as a singular state, even if Israel was “wiped off the map tomorrow” as so many desire it to be, would never even come into existence before it could fail. Here is what the scenario would be if the worst case happened… (and that’s what I use to explain to people why Israel MUST exist for the highes good of everyone in the region):

Lebanon would invade the north and occupy everything from Majd al-Shams to Jenin / Nahariya. Syria would retake the Golan and Hamas would take the Central Strip and create a de facto Hamastan, not “Palestine”, and Egypt would expand its border into former Southern Israel to secure their border against the Jihadist madmen. Within the shortest amount of time, you would have major flare ups of inter-racial, inter-ethnic tensions, and within two years former Israel would be a mix of Haiti and Afghanistan. Europe and US will finally shut their borders and cease money flow, which will impoverish and starve millions. No more UNRWA funding as now they aren’t refugees anymore, correct? Sharia law would return to all corners of the Middle East and boomerang it back to the 7th Century.

The biggest danger is that people just don’t see that. They truly think that all you need to do is give the Pals what is supposedly theirs and all will be well. But the perpetual lies against Israel have poisoned too many minds to understand he dangerous waters we are in globally.

I agree with you 100%. And there would be gender and religious apartheid as well. Let’s also not forget that Islamists want to get rid of the Jews first, and the West next. So where are they going to focus all their anger and resentment and victimology once the Jews have been dealt with?

You are overlooking one very important thing that would be accomplished with a Palestinian state with Hamas in control. It would give Iran another major foothold in the region, which would then extend from Iraq to Syria to Lebanon to “Palestine.“. This would, in turn, serve as a base to threaten Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.

This is true. Tue naivety of the PP crew who think that Israel is the only thing standing in the way of peace in the Middle East would be laughable if it wasn’t so consequential.

There is nowhere they are happy.

The inspiration for Islam Muhammad was known to be a madman.

People touched by devils go mad.

You might not believe it but lots of people I speak to do.

To suggest we all appeared from nothing is a bit crazy.

I can't see how there wasn't a creator.

If there was a creator then there would also be a balancing which would be Satan.

There are nations that have done terrible things to their citizens.

Usually they are godless cultures.

See USSR, China, or Cambodia for reference.

They butcher millions in the name of Marxism which is a friend of Islam.

It would be a bit like expecting someone who’s been brought up and lived on Welfare all his/her life to suddenly make a success running a business and lead a life of fulfilment.

Running a State is really tough and requires compromises - that’s why the Palestinians are so keen to talk about the idea, but have not been brave enough to try doing it for real.

Josh Shapiro said as much in an essay he wrote back in the early 90s. The Palestinians are simply are not capable of running a state. Their current two regimes are based on kleptocracy and terror.

This pointing out of the truth got him in trouble with the radical Democrats and, because of this, among other factors, which showed his sympathy for Israel, he was rejected as the candidate pro vice president.

(And, I guess, by posting this, I will be disqualified from ever being a Democratic candidate for vice president as well.)

Decades of indoctrination and beggar status have created an evil population focused on killing Jews. Even if the author's idea came true, they'd just start trying to kill Jews in other places.

I like the scenario painted. It made me think about it and write this. Thank you for your thought provoking article.

In the absence of Israel both Shiite and Sunni Would appeal to the politicization of underclassed Arabians that has been weaponized under an ethnonationalist banner, similar to the Scots-Irish and the Ku Klux Klan in the Reformation of The American South, known as Palestinian.

The Shiites advocating istishadi(suicide bombings as a redemption for their sins) have a grasp on this ethnonationalist weaponization of humanity which calls itself Palestinian, which could possibly mean they would bar access to Sunni Muslims from The Dome of the Rock, to lure KSA to bar Shiites from their Hajj to Mecca in KSA.

So who would stand to profit the most from Israel's Delegitimization and the dissolution of The Middle East into a warring zone of belligerence?

Oil prices go through the roof then, so not The Western Governments if their rational again. It would be Eastern Powers because the corporations use western bodies to fight their causes...hmm.

So, if Israel fell, which Eastern Power (Russia, China, India) or Middle Eastern state do you think would reign supreme?

I think China or Turkey, more numbers and guns in my book.

Pretty much all true! Not to mention the role UNRWA has played not only in perpetuating the cycle of victimhood for Palestinians for the last 75 years but in indoctrinating generations of school children with a hateful and violent ideology. No wonder UNRWA employees were complicit in the massacre of October 7. For there to be a legitimate Palestinian state side by side with Israel, the population needs to be deradicalized and a legitimate ruling party elected. I fear that's not going to happen.

Very interesting hypothesis, Kelli.

I find it interesting that most, if not all, of the media speaks of Hamas and Palestinians as separate entities when in fact they are one and the same. Probably why we never seem to hear of "Palestinians" protesting Hamas' atrocities and failure as a governing body.
