Australia is a large country, with a relatively small population due to hundreds of thousands of acres of land in the centre that is very difficult to inhabit due to the desert heat. We are basically a similar size to all of the States of America combined, but with a fraction of their population. Australia has a modest population of 26.7 million. The majority of us live around the edges, where the climate is less harsh. It is a beautiful and varied country, ‘Our land abounds in nature's gifts: Of beauty, rich and rare1’, from the pristine beaches of Broome to the natural untouched National Forests of Tasmania. So its no surprise that Australia’s third most popular political party has, for the most part, since their formation in 1992, been the Australian Greens Party.

There has been much debate over the years as to the effectiveness of what the Greens stand for, but one thing is certain, they nailed the marketing campaign, the day they rebranded as ‘The Greens’—certainly sounds ‘environmetal-ish’ doesn’t it? And for many years as the third most voted for party, they have held the balance of power in the Australian Government.
Ironically, the issue that propelled The Greens from local wildlife activist to registered political party was the ‘Save the Franklin’ campaign. The Franklin River is a beautiful wild river in Tasmania. Save it from what you might ask? The ‘Save the Franklin’ campaign fought the development of a source of renewable energy, hydro-electrical power, that would have supplied cheap and carbon-neutral means of powering the Tasmanian economy—not to mention thousands of jobs (the one thing Tasmania lacks) for years. But there is no doubt their hearts were in the right place.
The Australian Greens are a political party based on four key principles; ecological sustainability, grassroots democracy, social justice and peace and non-violence. Sounds great! So much so that I have personally voted for the Greens in the past many times (forgive me, I was young). So being social justice warriors, and a major Australian political party, you would expect a statement about the horrific human rights violations that happened on October 7. There was none. In fact a mere two days later, Greens Senator Jordon Steele-John tweeted that the ‘Greens reject and condemn all forms of violence, especially against civilians. There must be an immediate ceasefire between the State of Israel and Hamas’. What? I thought we didn’t negotiate with terrorists? Zero mention of the 250 hostages. I’m confused Greens? Also on October 9, while Israel had barely had a chance to identify let alone bury their dead, Deputy Leader and Senator Mehreen Faruqi for the Greens tweeted “Gaza’s civilians are on the precipice of annihilation…there has to be an end to the blockade, an end to Israel’s occupation and oppression, and freedom for Palestine.” Excuse me? Palestinians just brutally slaughtered 1200 Israelis, during a ceasefire, abducted 250 hostages including children and babies, and within 48 hours you are blaming Israel?
Since October 7, The Greens have become self-proclaimed champions of Gaza, one of the terror hotbeds of the Islamic Middle East, riddled with religious extremism, misogyny, child marriage, violence and corruption from within. But wait, it gets better. On October 18, the Greens burst out of the gates to report ‘Israel bombed the al-Ahli hospital in Gaza’—adding their apparent legal expertise by labelling it a ‘war crime.’ It has since been widely acknowledged that it was in fact a misfire from a Hamas rocket that created the havoc (in the carpark I might add). Any apology or retractions from the Greens? No.
On June 29, the Greens moved a motion in the Australian Parliament to recognise the State of Palestine. Great use of your power guys! I’m sure Netanyahu is sitting on the edge of his seat awaiting the result of a country thousands of miles away, to recognise a fantasy state run by terrorists! The motion failed.
I could go on and on, but suffice to say, from zero interest in Gaza prior to October 7, The Greens have now become a fully fledged member of the ‘Free Palestine Gang’. The Greens website mentions the ‘genocide of Gaza’ more than once (read my pervious Substack about the fictional genocide) and have urged our Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to publicly back South Africa’s proceedings against Israel in the International Court of Justice (thats going well). The Greens however have failed to acknowledge the United Nations (UN) report on the sexual violence on October 72, or have done zero to condemn the war crimes by Hamas involving rape, gang rape, mutilations, beheadings, breaking a ceasefire, using civilians as human shields or the thousands of rockets that have been fired at Israel every day for 12 months.
But here is the kicker. On September 29, just a few days ago, the Australia Palestine Advocacy Network3 (APAN) organised an Action Day for Gaza, which has garnered Nation-wide attention due to the terrorist flags of Hezbollah proudly blowing in the wind, and the posters of Hezbollah leader Hasan Nasrallah being held up like a hero. Greens Deputy Leader and Senator Faruqi, who was a speaker on the day, proudly displayed one of these images on The Greens Instagram grid with the quote “This is a fight for justice for all colonised peoples—its is a war that pits those of us that have had our lives, our nations, our way of life ruined by colonialism against those who want to exploit us, who want to dominate us, who want to crush us. Well we are not going to be crushed’. Apparently Faruqi is non-plussed by the flagrant support of designated terrorist groups that have colonised the Middle East.

Firstly Mehreen, you don’t represent the people of Gaza, you are a Deputy Leader and Senator of the people of Australia. You left Pakistan, as you became acutely aware of the terrible injustices and gender apartheid and wanted a better life for your family, only to root for the Islamists here in our free country? What colonisation have you had to suffer Mehreen since arriving in Australia in 1992? Our country has afforded you every opportunity and freedoms that you have put to use by entering politics at one of our countries highest levels, and this is how you repay our generosity? By bagging us our as colonisers and spending your time, paid by us the tax payer—$243,2504 a year as a Senator (plus expenses, free travel, dinners etc)—by aligning yourself and your message with terrorists?
Why The Greens, are you spending more time spreading misinformation and lies about Israel, and aligning yourselves with the Pro Gaza movement than you are on issues that actually affect Australian citizens? We do not pay you for your opinions (and definitely not for your bullshit) on conflicts thousands of miles away? How can a Party that stands on a platform for LBTQI folk and ‘freedom to practice religion’ stand with one of the most intolerant mono-religious, sexist, anti-queer and violent societies in the Middle East? When did the Greens align themselves with people carrying terrorist flags and idolising terrorists?

The Greens how can you claim you stand for peace and demand a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon while the Iranian backed terror groups of Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis have yet to be fully dismantled? After a year of unwavering support for Gaza and a ceasefire, and your refusal to back a two-state solution, exactly what proposal have you put forward to protect the ‘people’ from corrupt and violent Islamic governing and corruption post a ceasefire? Or are you happy to deliver them back into the hands of the brutal leadership of terrorists? Feel free to slide into my DMs at any stage with any practical solutions you may have to the constant terror attacks the Israelis have copped over the past 12 months—and the decades preceding—and more relevantly, as you are Australian politicians, what are you doing about the historic rise of antisemitic attacks on the Jewish community in OUR country? As trusted elected officials of Australia, how do you plan to reduce the increased risk of the terrorism threat, which ASIO have recently upgraded to PROBABLE? What are you doing to protect us from the terrorist waving supporters in your own crowd? As a tax paying Australian citizen who pays your wages and expenses I would like an explanation.

Much the same here in the UK. In a local election somewhere up north earlier this year a Muslim Green Party candidate shouted “Allahu albar” at his victory speech and said “This is for Gaza”. The national Green Party officially calls Israel an “apartheid state” and officially accuses it of “genocide”. I’d like to say I’m surprised but I’m not…
The Greens are abusing their political power by publicly supporting multiple terrorist groups, inciting violence, intimidation and antisemitic behaviour. If they spew comments like genocide and oppression they should prove it. Three word slogans are insufficient. Fundamentally , they don’t care about anything in the Middle East - this is just blatant vote seeking behaviour. I would like to hear their explanation for why the oppressed Lebanese/iranians/syrians in the Middle East were overjoyed and celebrating the one way exit of nasralah. The greens demonstrate they are not a credible alternative political party. They are a bunch of ignorant rabble with egg on their collective face. They are unAustralian. They have breached Australian laws. They should be expelled from their lucrative jobs immediately.
