Last day of Passover. In the Torah, we read about the parting of the Red Sea. As the journey to the promised land begins. That was 3300 years ago. We are still on that journey.

The only rational explanation for evil in this world, so far as I see it, is there must be a devil, a force that instills evil inclinations in men and has the ability to cause evil as well, though of course less powerful than Hashem. The most notable appearance of the devil, seen as an evil inclination, an evil force, appears in Genesis in the Garden of Eden in form of the serpent that tempts Eve to sample the apple from the tree of life, and then persuade Adam to do the same. Even more notable in the Old Testament, the devil appears in the Book of Job, and illustrates how the devil ruins Job's life with the only restriction placed on the devil by G-d is not to destroy Job. The story of Job in the bible is the story of the Jew. While well meaning individuals attempt to explain to Job the reasons for his calamities and tragedies in life, we know the cause of Job's troubles is the devil. The bible tells us as much. Why does the devil torture Job? Because Job continues to worship and believe in Hashem, despite the devil's best efforts to cause Job to no longer believe. This also explains why folk are so wrong when they try to assign reason for why there is hatred or animosity towards Jews. There is no reason, it is all the doings of the devil Why does the devil despise and torment Job? For the same reason the devil despises and torments the Jew, who befuddles the devil by continuing to believe in G-d in the same way as Job. Despite the horrors and calamities faced by Jews through the ages, and even today, the Jew continues to believe. In the end, Hashem restores Job and thwarts the devil. Reach your own conclusion, and Happy Easter!

Kelli, you always find interesting and timely subjects for your articles. I have learned a lot from your writings. This one compares the main religions as to how they deal with this world and what we can expect from whatever comes after. Although I am an agnostic like you, it is still very valuable to understand what drives adherents of the various religions to act the way they do. Thank you for your fine piece.

I'd suggest exploring the work of Jordan Peterson if you're looking for proof. He's working through his thesis that the enlightenment is over, because there's no denying God is real. If you can accept that, then a results-based assessment would lead you to the Bible as the clear winner for an operating system for life.

Happy Easter!

In Revelations it speaks that there will be demons scurrying all over the earth spitting fire from their mouths and their rears. In the book Born in Tibet it has a passage about trucks coming up the roads the Chinese had built. The yak herders were yelling, upon seeing these trucks, they are spitting fire from their mouths and their rears.

It is too late. Another prophecy this tome by Edgar Cayce, says " you may avoid WWIII BUT New York City will still be underwater.

There’s a word - sorry I can’t remember what it is, maybe someone in the comments knows?

It basically means that, something might not be true or not have happened. But what resulted from it was so good, someone would have invented it anyway. This is how I view Western religions. I was christened into the Church of England (Protestant) but have never been a practicing Christian.

But. If I’m asked if I believe in religion I always say “yes”.

The ‘Jewish/Christian’ model, started in Jerusalem, thought about for a bit in Athens, structured in Rome and spread to most of the world has given us the best model to structure societies to the benefit of all the countries that adhere to it. So do I believe in our current western societies? Yes. I wouldn’t want to live differently. So I may not be religious, but I do believe in religion for what it resulted in. Does that make sense?

Oh BTW- happy Easter! Hope you and yours get all the chocolate you need!!!!

Many of the events of Revelation might turn out to be outward consequences of our bad choices. The oceans dying is "poured out" meaning it's the release of a huge buildup. And the judgment? Read Matthew 25. He says he will condemn many who think they're in his camp, and welcome many who have no idea who he is. If there is a God, by definition God's judgments are truly fair and as merciful as possible.

Harry Truman once said, there is nothing new in the world except the history you haven't heard. What we think of as signs of the end times have been happening throughout my lifetime, and I'm a good piece older than you. What's new is that western liberal democracies now seem unsafe in a way we haven't experienced since the last world war. And what seems to have a dimension of diabolical irrationality is the willingness of so many western elites to encourage the downfall of their own societies for no apparent reason. I still don't have an answer for that.

You missed the Holy Spirit as faith is supernatural and above our realm in frequency.

How would you reveal the message through the noise ?

I believe that the anti-Christ is amongst us now; his name is Donald J Trump. A convicted felon, a repeated proven liar, he has surrounded himself with sycophants who repeat his histrionic, hyperbolic lies in an effort to further his demented agenda. He has made the USA and the world now much less safe than it was 100 days ago. We were going to take a cruise from Florida to South America but now, knowing how unsafe America is and that anyone can be pulled off the streets by ICE and made to disappear in El Salvador, we have decided to never visit the USA again.
