One of the more infuriating slanderous accusations directed towards Israel, and anyone that supports Israel, is the notion that we are all white, colonising oppressors.
Clementine Ford this week posted a lovely statement that went like this; “Zionism is a racist ideology whose most fervent supporters are white supremacists.” You see in Ford’s world, Israelis are white, racist colonisers.
And factual contrary evidence such as Israelis and Jews are Arab, dark skinned, brown skinned, and all shades in between don’t factor in to her ‘knowledgable’ opinion. That Israel is the only country in the region that has equal rights, regardless of race or religion, doesn’t fit her skewed narrative. Why let a pesky thing like facts get in the way of a good pitch fork moment!
So I thought I would shine a light on another annoying little historical fact, one that Ford and her woke cronies so conveniently ignore — Welcome to the Arab slave trade.
The Arab Muslim slave trade also known as the Trans-Saharan or Eastern slave trade, is recognised as the longest slave trade in history, spanning over 1,300 years. Millions of Africans were forcibly removed from their homeland, and subjected to cruel and brutal conditions by their captors.
The journey through the Sahara Desert often took months, and was wrought with danger. The conditions were brutal. The extreme heat, lack of water and malnutrition meant that an estimated 50 per cent of slaves died on the journey — never making it to their final destination.
The demand for female slaves was high, as the women and girls could be trafficked as sex slaves. So much so that the ratio of captured women to men were estimated at three to one. Strong men were captured and sold to work on farms and ranches — slaves until death.
"Most of the millions of men they deported have disappeared as a result of inhumane treatment. This painful page in the history of black people has apparently not been completely turned." — Franco-Senegalese
Male slaves were often castrated, rendering them incapable of reproducing. Castrated and humiliated men were considered more reliable and less susceptible to rival claims to power.
"The castration of black male slaves in the most inhumane manner altered an entire generation, as these men could not reproduce," said Liberty Mukomo, a lecturer at the University of Nairobi Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies.1
"The Arab masters sired children with the black female slaves. This devastation by the men saw those who survived committing suicide. This development explains the modern black Arabs who are still trapped by history."2
Sean Thomas, in an article in the Spectator wrote; “Slavery is such an intrinsic part of Islam that the treatment, utility, and social status of slaves is expressly discussed in multiple verses of the Koran. Notoriously, the Koran allows slave owners sexual rights to their female chattels – the woman is not permitted to refuse. This fact was exploited by Isis terrorists when they seized Yazidi girls as unwilling concubines.”3
Slave trades are an unfortunate part of world history, however we must also remember that it was Europe and the United States that fought to abolish the practice, in Europe centuries ago, and the United States officially in 1865. However, in many Arab countries the trade continued well into the 20th century. Reports indicate that in some Arab countries, slavery is still be practiced, albeit it discretely.

So why the double standards? Why is only slavery by white people admonished, despite it being the whites that abolished slavery way before the Arabs?
The answer lies in the hyper fixation that the far left have with feeling virtuous through self obsessed guilt. A whole generation of people looking for something to feel guilty about — to self-flagellate over. However, gleefully taking responsibility for movements such as slavery that you are not responsible for, doesn’t make you special or superior, it makes you an idiot.
I can tell you who aren’t beating themselves up about their history of slavery — the Arabs. You won’t find Muslims burning their own flags and wallowing in Muslim guilt. You won’t find woke Muslim academics pointing their finger at other Muslims, and weaponising their history against them.
“Woke people embrace shame to avoid being ashamed of their shame”4
And I am by no means pointing the finger at the Arabs. I am simply pointing out the hypocrisy of continually trying to spotlight issues like colonialism, the slave trade, racism etc, as if they are ‘white only’ problems, and therefore, everyone else gets a free pass.
True freedom and equality under the law for all people can only be achieved through a sane analysis of history, and an acceptance that we are not culpable for wrongs done generations prior.
And a final word to Clementine Ford. As a proud Zionist, I can happily inform you that I am not a white-supremacist. In fact over the past 14 months, I have not seen one Zionist spew hate at anyone because of their race or colour. What I have witnessed is frustration when they attempt to explain their lived experience to white, privileged women like you, only to be dismissed and verbally abused. I have seen Zionists fervently support their own, without descending into hate and vitriol towards the Palestinians. And I have observed white privileged women like you, celebrate terrorism and intifada, in some warped reframing of your own misplaced white guilt.
But misinformation and the absence or reason have real life consequences. All I ask, is the next time you feel compelled to post a catchy phrase accusing Zionists of white-supremacy, or some other horrible slander to your hundreds of thousands of followers, try backing it up with some actual research.

While I was aware of the Arab slave trade, you enlightened me about how it persisted long after slavery was abolished in western countries. The sexual slavery of Yazidi women is an abomination, especially since the Quran is cited as permitting such slavery as if that justifies it.
The retconning of Arabs and Islam as “comrades in arms” with Africans and “fellow oppressed people” is one of the biggest frauds of the 21st century. That narrative exists to attack White people. But the narrative can also be used to attack Israel in service of the “Free Palestine” movement. Lies are very flexible!
The Arab Slave Trade will be ignored until people start to grow a pair and defend both Zionism and Western Civilization.
The simplest way to cut through race bullshit: Bad things are bad and good things are good, regardless of the race of the person involved.
