And now it’s the turn of the Christians of Syria, being raped and beheaded as we speak by guess who, oh the same murdering muslims. And yet the world remains silent. Why?
Not a mention even in the Australian Catholic Press, that usually gives some notice to religious persecution. If the Syrians are mentioned at all in the media, the weasel words ‘alleged’ and ‘claimed’ are wheeled out again. If Israel comes to their aid, there’ll be plenty of coverage to show that Israel started it, after all…I’ve heard that the Al Alawi Muslims, also being slaughtered for being the ‘wrong’ kind of Muslims, have asked Israel for help. I absolutely don’t know what to hope for there.
We Jews would call your essay a Purim Shpiel, sort of like an April Fool's essay, only not funny. Sad we don't live in a world such as depicted in your essay.
Just remember mate. Somewhere, a person who has never imagined the scenario you wrote of, has read your article. Even if it was for a brief moment, they have had a portrait of what could have been, that they might never have thought of were it not for your writing. You should be proud of yourself.
Ah, Kelli. To know why we write can be a life altering caesura into the space of imagination and self-understanding. I wish it for you and for all writers.
It SHOULD have happened the way you depicted, Kelli! Logic and truth should have scripted the response you described, but prejudice and stupidity are difficult foes, particularly when they are funded by the very religion that perpetrated the atrocities. As Sam Harris, one of my favourites says, when will we humans truly ‘make sense’ of our milieu?
I've often said that perhaps in a parallel universe, Arabs accepted Israel in 1948, and they didn't invade. Thus, Israel became half Jews and half Arabs, while Jews mostly stayed in Muslim countries, making those countries better. If only...

Because Muslims are the flavour of the month, so they can’t possibly admit that they are the perpetrators

Thanks Steve. Sadly you are right.
If only. Instead the very opposite has happened. It is so depressing (as predictable as it was).
If only. Heartbreaking.
A Tarantino “what if” tale. Beautifully written. Maybe writing it will make it so? G-d willing.
Who knows why we write. All I know is I feel compelled. Will it ever make a difference, I don’t know. Maybe.

Thank you so much Simon 🙏🏻🙏🏻🤍🎗️

Thank you Derek.
You write so well Kelli, you’ll have to teach me how 😊
I’m positive that you could write just as well or better Kev.
I’m getting my rock n chisel out Kelli
Thing about writing is it’s easy. That is until you have to actually write
😂😂😂
Brilliant. Your best yet.
Thank you Kip 🙏🏻
Every day
So on top of all your insightful and well researched articles you like to also write fiction. To be honest this just made me very sad for the future.

Beautiful ❤️
Diabolically brilliant! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Yeah, that woulda been wonderful. Wonderful, but impossible, because the ship that would have made it possible sailed 1700 years ago with Constantine.
