As the whole construct of palestine and palestinians is a falsehood it should fall to the arab states to accept the refugees and stop the killing.

Like Jordan, the actual second state in the original two state solution.

Well Jordan *did* accept the Palestinians, who then attempted to assassinate their king, thank you for the hospitality, and then Jordan vomited them out. Somehow this is Israel's fault.

Maybe you really should look into the fact that other Arab nation don't give a crap about the Palestinians. In fact they use them to keep the Arabs stirred up, so they don't overthrow their own leaders.

You can still fool most of the people most of the time. How about what they did to us over Covid!

It all comes down to what the anti Israel people view as disproportionate killing of Palestinians by Israel or Israel having no right to exist and, consequently no right to launch an offensive against its attackers.

Proportionality in the law of war requires "military commanders to weigh the anticipated military advantage against the expected collateral damage when planning a military attack in order to ensure that the attack is not excessive or disproportionate." It does not mean that in a defensive counter attack, the number of civilian casualties caused by the counter attack must be roughly the same as the number caused by the original attack. That would result in absurd targetting of some number of civilians as a counter measure.

Of course if the argument is that Israel has no right to exist, so no right to counter attack, then the argument fails on many grounds too numerous to mention here. There are excellent books about this that the anti Israel people simply refuse to read. One such book is "The War of Return" by Einat Wilf.

Their idea of proportionality and the actual meaning of proportionality in terms of war are vastly different. But let’s be honest. The death ratio is extremely low yet they still hate, accuse, berate Israel. As you say it’s not about proportionality, it’s about their underlying belief that Israel has no right to exist.

That is definitely true: it was said to me back in the early 1980s. I remember responding that, if they thought Israel shouldn't exist, what about all the people who'd been living there for decades? I said that the whole idea of it not existing was quite abhorrent.

Actually Jihadists like Hamas DO want to kill children - Jewish ones and Palestinian ones. The former as part of their jihadist agenda, and the latter as part of their strategy to demonise Israel in the eyes of the world.

Crystal clear. I’ve on the receiving end of this pillock as well. His responses were unhinged, despite my best attempts at remaining civil. As long as people keep letting Hamas know the propaganda is working, they will continue. The irony. Want the war to end? Shut up then 🤷‍♂️. Every death in this war is on Hamas. Purposely putting your ‘own’ people in danger, lying or keeping quiet about Israel’s advance warnings, so they can get some good propaganda footage is sick.

Hamas started it with IRAN’s support if not planning.

Taking Gaza, Lebanon and Iran back to the 1st century is required to win.

I can't comprehend the mentality of the Palestinians, to be so consumed with hatred that you teach your children to hate, to actually celebrate the barbaric slaughter of others. My colleague lamented that I didn't understand the history. "If you had to entrust your child to either Hamas or the IDF, which would you choose?" I asked him. He declined to answer.

Perhaps if Maurice watched that film taken in Gaza by an Israeli team he would realise that it is Hamas who are the cause of the Gazans' misery.

People like Maurice don’t care. It’s just an excuse to hate Jews and Israel. Truth is irrelevant to them.

A minor quibble--Hamas declared war on Israel long before October 7, 2023. That was just the most violent and horrifying example of their war.

I've noticed that every response from a "pro-Palestinian" quickly devolves into an ad hominem attack, e.g., if you defend the Israelis you are a reprehensible person. If you insist they give you evidence to back up their views, they can't. These exchanges are all repetitions of DARVO gaslighting; the antagonists are willfully brainwashed and at no point did they exercise actual curiosity to discover the real story. The interesting thing is that promoting the DARVO line gets them ahead socially and in their chosen field, while questioning the DARVO is career suicide, and at some point, deep down, they know that, which explains their complete lack of curiosity as to real facts.
