Why Iran can ever have nuclear weapons.
Rarely in life are things absolute. Nuance and grey areas can be found in almost all things. Life is complex, politics even more complex, and foreign policy which connects us all to the global world is even more dynamic and ever changing.
The Islamic Regime of Iran having nukes however is not one of them.
That this is even being debated by some tells me one of two things. People are either stupidly naive, or they are genocidal maniacs. There is no other option.
Only people living in a fairy land of their own mind could truly assume that the Iranian Regime has only good intentions from enriching uranium.
Don’t believe me? Let’s hear it from the horses mouth. So let’s begin!
In 2015 the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei (Supreme Leader) famously stated in a speech that “Israel won’t exist in 25 years.”1
In 2017 the Regime first unveiled a digital countdown “Doomsday Clock’2, in Tehran showing 8,411 days to what they said would be the "destruction of Israel". The clock sits in the centre square, counting down to Israel’s prophesied destruction on 9 September 2040. They have never minced words about it’s meaning or their ambitions.
In 2019, Brigadier General Hossein Salami said, “Our strategy is to wipe Israel off the political map of the world.”3 Pretty clear right?
These are a few of many explicit examples of the leaders of the Regime’s goals. But if you think that it’s only Israel’s problem, think again.
The Ayatollah Khamenei has invoked the slogan “Death to America” multiple times throughout his tenure. In February 2019, November 2015 and again in 2025 during a speech to workers in Tehran ahead of renewed nuclear negotiations, Khamenei explicitly endorsed chants of “Death to America.”
I had a well meaning idiot respond to one one my posts on Substack a few days ago that went something like this, “I don’t think Iran have any intention of attacking the US.”
Oh darling, how nice it must be to live in your world of flowers and puppies. The only, and I mean the ONLY reason the Regime in Iran have not decimated the USA is that the US is militarily stronger and they know they could not possibly win. But do not think for a second if they had nuclear weapons that they would not use them.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reports that Iran possesses approximately 408.6 kilograms of uranium enriched up to 60%, a substantial increase from previous assessments. This level of enrichment is just below the 90% threshold required for weapons-grade uranium.
To be clear, there are NO legitimate reasons for enriching uranium to 60% or more other than to create nuclear weapons. None, not one. Not power, not for medical use, nothing.
U.S. intelligence estimates suggested that Iran could have produces enough weapons-grade uranium for a nuclear bomb in under a week if it decides to do so.4
Thank God for Israel.
After the great tragedy of the Iranian Revolution, Iran severed all ties with Israel, labeled it the "Little Satan" (the U.S. was the "Great Satan"). Why you ask? Why would Iran, a country of billions with a big land mass give a shit about a tiny little sliver like Israel?
Why would a country the size and population of Iran care about tiny Israel? Why would it spend billions upon billions of dollars that it’s people don’t have on arming and training their terrorist proxies over decades with the sole purpose of destroying Israel? Iran doesn’t even share borders with Israel. And unlike the people of Gaza, the people of Iran overwhelmingly claim solidarity and alliance with the people of Israel.
Iran has lost nothing to Israel, why such a profound hate?
To understand this, you have to understand the story of Islam. Islam was born of strength and conquest. They believe that their decline in power is a theological problem, a sign that Muslim failure is a failure to Allah, creating a distance from God.
They believe that only the killing of all the Jews—and of course Israel happen to contain a lot of them in a concentrated area— will bring on the coming of the Day of Judgment or a messianic age.
This is what it is about. Not land, not Occupation, not apartheid and not colonialism. It never was. If you believe that, you have been duped by the most successful propaganda campaigns since Joseph Goebbels worked his magic in Germany.
The Mullahs in Iran believe that if they fail to exterminate the Jewish State of Israel, then they will fail to return to their rightful place as the conquerers and theocratic leaders of the world.
To these radical true believers, everything and everyone is fodder for their cause. This is the single and only reason that the Regime has leeched itself to the Palestinian cause, at great cost to the Palestinians, the reason why they have diverted billions of dollars from the people of Iran to stockpiling ballistic missiles, at great cost to the people, and the single reason why they have invested billions of dollars in their nuclear program.
The Islamic Regime of Iran has held hostage it’s own people for 46 years through violence, murder, public hangings and control, withholding education and general subjugation of the people. This has been their only defining success. Controlling the masses through fear of death. Estimates indicate up to 90% of the Iranian people are against the Regime.
And make no mistake, the only reason Israel has been able to withstand the continuous attacks and imminent threats from the Regime is through their unique ability to understand the existential threats that they face, and to counter that with military hegemony, intelligence and advanced technological supremacy.
Israel, with neighbours who want to eradicate them on all borders, with a fraction of the population of mega countries like Iran, with the choice of either annihilation or innovation has become a global leader in technology and innovation. The ongoing partnership with the US is in most part valuable for the western power due to the high-level quality intelligence that Mossad, Shin Bet and Aman offer.
The people of Iran have been begging the world to intervene for 46 years. Due to censorship and fear of repercussions, it’s impossible to know the exact number of dissidents, but it’s important to understand that the culture of Iran and Persia is rich and diverse, but has never been particularly religiously dogmatic. The fact that they have been forced to live under increasing strict Islamic Sharia rule for 46 years is a travesty.
Many people in Iran have been killed for speaking out against the regime5 If you have been silent over the past 46 years, during the Mahsa Amini protests, during the Woman Life Freedom protests, the Mashhad Protests, the Qazvin Protests, the Student Protests, the Green Movement Protests, and the Khuzestan Water Protests, you probably should shut up now and let Israel do the job.
If you are of the belief that a theocratic extremist Islamic regime, who value death over life and openly declare their intentions of exterminism of Israel, the USA and then the rest of the non-Muslim world, should have the right to enrich uranium for nuclear weapons—then you are probably a psychopath, maybe look into that.
For the rest of us who believe in life, in free society, of western values, human rights, self-determination, the right to chose love, protect our children, work freely, sing and dance publicly, let our hair blow in the wind—we will pay for Israel. Pray for the guardians of the free world, the brazen, brave, badass men and women of the IDF risking their lives to save the world.

Kelli, too many people in democratic countries like Australia, Britain, and Canada have been duped into believing that Israel is a greater threat to world peace than Iran. For example, tomorrow there is a massive protest planned by the Ontario local of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) in front of the U.S. Consulate in Toronto. The local alone has 294,000 members. They will be carrying banners with "Hands Off Iran" and shouting this slogan as well as others that are anti Israel and anti U.S.A.
The same union and many others in Canada and other democracies have been supporting Hamas and Hezbollah against Israel in their "Free Palestine" campaign, all funded by Iran. There does not appear to be any concern by these unions' leaders that Iran will use nuclear weapons first against Israel and then, if possible, against all the infidels in other countries.
