Kelli, you have eloquently shown how shallow and foolish are those who slavishly repeat the lies about Israel being a genocidal, settler, colonialist, apartheid entity bent on killing innocent women and children.
Thank you Kelly for writing this - I couldn't find the right words or courage but I did ask myself the questions and did research. To be honest, when the first images came out, even I, who consider Israel as part of me, had already - unconsciously - been infected with that phrase "this didn't happen in a vacuum" while I don't have TV and didn't remember how it had gotten into my thoughts !!! Initially shocked when an evacuated friend from the Northern communities said they ought to bomb the place... I started asking myself questions and have been doing historical research and following almost daily. I'm not Jewish. I love Israel and will always stand with her, and it's people. The heartwarming mentality, hospitality, the support, the joy, the feeling of security even during alarms and hours spend in the shelter, the love I received there 40 years ago have been life saving for me. Israel is a light to the world. Please stay United.
I recently saw an interview with someone (dammit I can't remember the journalist) who explained exactly why these terrorist movements act in this way. I never understood this previously... but now it makes perfect sense. He outlined that the Hamas logic is that if their attacks are so outrageously barbaric that nobody could conceive of them being a rational response it builds in the minds of observers an assumption that there must be some really valid reason for it. In other words the harder Israel is attacked the more Israel is blamed for it.
It seems a but circular but it made perfect sense - I'm trying to find the link. Basically the tactic plays on a neutral person's expectation of proportionality.
He is seriously unhinged about the Gaza issue. Just take his demeanour and apply it to the activists out there waving flags - or our Green parliamentarians.
I can assure you that I have never felt the slightest feeling of "pity" for these so-called "Palestinians": they are ALL GUILTY, they deserve nothing else. I can only have sympathy for those who have been innocently devastated, like the Israeli victims of October 7th.
I have a.o. six little cats - "the jews among the animals" - I rescued from the streets or shelters, I feel and care for them - so it´s not a lack of compassion or sensitivity.
If the "Palestinians“ were really doing so badly, why has their population continued to grow? Apart from that, only destroyed buildings and bombed-out people are deliberately shown; that Israel has already started rebuilding and why certain areas for rightful reasons were intentionally destroyed - e.g. all buildings in the immediate vicinity of the borders -, is something you read about nowhere, and hardly is there any factual reporting, the "journalists" are all engaged in their personal politics; because their hatred towards "the West" and the free economy - what left and right totalitarians call "liberal fascism" - that 95% of "journalists" love so much, finds no resonance anywhere except in countries full of oppression and lack of freedom, so they use "the Palestinians" as hostages to spread their perverse "world view". They should all please go to Iran or Russia if they like hating freedom so much.
Since the "world community" cannot or does not want to keep the terrorists in check and under control, Israel has to do it. Don't hate Israel, hate yourself. Look in the mirror and start vomiting and spitting on yourself as soon as you look closer to what you are.
Sorry that I have got nothing "nice" to say about all this.
Kelli, you are truly gifted writer and your posts are always an eloquent port in the storm of bullshit around us that passes for news. It’s so sad any of this needs to be said, but it does, and you say it so well.
Kelli. Re stacked with a note. What a fantastic piece of writing this is. Encapsulates the frustration, anger and disbelief many of us are feeling regarding the misrepresentation of Israel and this whole conflict by the Left wing media and the effect of social media as an influencer. This piece reflects my own feelings exactly and expresses them perfectly. Love it.
It’s hard to fight unreason with reason Kerri. I, for one, applaud your restraint tbh. As the horrors of October 7th unfolded and have now become fully apparent it beggars belief that anyone cannot grasp why Israel has responded with such verve. The inhumanity, cruelty and up close and personal-ness of 07-10-23 is difficult to grasp in its horror. How anybody could do what they did then post their deeds on social media complete with ridicule and scorn for their victims: and phone their parents in Canada and elsewhere, boasting of their deeds, demonstrate just what Israel has to deal with. The insanity. The unreason. The built in barbarity. The BBC had played a huge part in the follow up with their stance on Hamas being a non-terrorist organization. Huge. And of course the millions for whom this is a cause celebre, a badge of honour to wear to demonstrate their affinity with the Left or friends on the Left. Guardian readers et al. I see Sheffield MDC saw fit to raise the Palestinian flag yesterday in a display of narcissism, or anti Semitism, or both. And now Amnesty and its oh so biased executive giving credence to the whole genocide stance while ignoring the horrors of Oct 7th. The gloves are off for me and have been for a while. The anger and incredulity I feel is expressed loudly and clearly in your piece. Writing from the heart works and is especially powerful when accompanied by appropriate facts and reasoned argument. Well done. T
I agree with you totally Tommo. I try to remember that motto you catch more bees with honey than with 💩. That maybe if I stay diplomatic I might away just one person. But sometimes it all just blurts out into the page, and I can’t withhold my sarcasm and disgust.
Hi again Kelli. In case you missed it I am sending you this link from YouTube . It’s a debate at the Oxford Union a few days ago. Motion: Israel I an apartheid state. This man speaking is an Israeli Arab. Fantastic. Powerful and uncompromising.
I’ve seen this ‘debate’ and read an article about the night by one of the pro-Israel side. As an Englishman, we were brought up believing that Oxford and/or Cambridge were the pinnacle of academic excellence. In addition to being the standard for Olde World upper class decorum, manners and almost Royal like reverence for how things should be done. The night of this ‘debate’ (the ‘for’ team, the crowd and the laughably biased ‘independent moderator’) was an absolute disgrace. Beyond embarrassing, not just for the institution, but for the international reputation of England. I thought I had a decent grasp of how deep these nut job propagandists had gone, but I seem to have wildly underestimated how far and insidious it really is.
I know Simon. I have nothing but praise for those four people who presented an excellent case for Israel against what was in fact an unruly mob. Take a bow Natasha, Jonathan, Mosab and Yoseph. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱
Absolutely 👍🏻 they knew what they were walking into, and could easily have thought “bollocks to this” (I’m sure in a much more dignified way). The sight of 70ish (?) percent saying they would not have warned Israel if they had been aware in advance of 7th Oct is mind boggling. The lack of basic humanity is beyond understanding.
Excellent, impassioned, articulate and accurate piece: thank you, Kelli. Folk such as yourself are helping to maintain a current of truth against the tsunami of falsehood that we see every day. Keep on, mate - it’s appreciated more than you know.
Kelli, you have eloquently shown how shallow and foolish are those who slavishly repeat the lies about Israel being a genocidal, settler, colonialist, apartheid entity bent on killing innocent women and children.
Thank you Dan. It was one of those pieces that just spewed out once I started. Very heart felt.

Yep. That makes sense. People are very easily led.
I couldn't find it - but found something else...
I have never actually paid much attention to Andrew Tate, until I saw this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pMsYSR7g78

I agree with you. And I’m pretty sure my feeling come across pretty clearly in this piece.
Brilliantly written. I agree with everything you write here.
Thank you Sheri 🤍
I again thank you for your continued support. People like you prevent me from completely losing hope.
Thank you Ian. I’m not going anywhere and I will keep shining a light on the truth. Thanks for your support.

Wow. Thank you so much Jonathan. That means a lot.
Beautifully expressed, as always. I'll be passing this on to some who are ready for this message
Thank you Jess. Hopefully sooner rather than later people will wake up to the truth.

Thank you Tommo. I try very hard to be balanced. But with this one I let loose my frustration. I’m so glad it resonated 🙏🏻🤍

This essay is pure gold.

Thank you for sharing. I wish/hope/pray the people who need it will read it. Any of them. Even one of them.
So do I Betty. 🤍
