Perfectly stated, yet again. There are no people I respect more than non-Jews who put themselves on the line and speak up for Jewish people, when they don't have to, when they could stay silent and make it easy on themselves, but refuse to do that, and often at great cost to themselves. We can't do it alone. There aren't enough of us. We are taking machine gun fire from both ends of the political spectrum. We need allies more than ever. So, thank you for being one, and for speaking out.

To be honest, your columns, and those of Pat Johnston, Thomas Gregg, and a handful of others, have provided more direct support during these increasingly horrific days since October 7, than literally any of my actual friends--none of whom have said anything about any of this for nearly two years. They do not want to hear about it; think about it; or talk about it. Or even acknowledge it. Not even atrocities like the murders of the couple in Washington, D.C. or the firebombing of Jews in Boulder, Colorado. It's extremely disorienting and hard to understand. While I can't help but lose some respect for anyone who could see this going on, every day, and not say even one word (even a text message) to a friend whom they know is directly affected by it, I chalk it up to obliviousness. They just don't get it, but they don't mean anything by it, and they're too caught up in their own struggles to take on anyone else's (even if they have all the time in the world to rant maniacally about Trump). That's why it's so amazing when others, whom I've never met, actually *do* get it and provide more support than friends and acquaintances whom I've had relationships with for decades.

I try to remain positive, but it's getting more difficult. Every week there is a new horror. Almost every day. One of my greatest fears is that our allies will see prominent, attention-grabbing Jews aid & abet our enemies (the rabbis for Mamdani, JVP, Bernie Sanders, Chuck Schumer, Michelle Goldberg, etc.) and ask themselves if Jews aren't going to stand up for themselves, then why should we? They are a loud fringe. Please don't ever think they speak for the vast majority of us, because they don't. They are collaborators, unfortunately. Most Jews are fighting a pitched battle every day and absolutely need, and appreciate, your help. So, again, thank you.

Kip we have our Jewish Council of Australia that support APAN and are self hating Jews. It makes no difference to me. It’s very simple for me, the moral line is very clear. I will continue to stand with you and do all that I can.

At some point as one contemplates evil, whether it be in the form of antisemitic mobs or one sociopath hellbent on destruction, it becomes clear that another force is at play. That force is Satan. As a Catholic, I have no problem understanding this. Everything falls into place when this is understood. The battle for souls is real.

Thank you. There is no way you could truly understand without being Jewish. Not saying you can’t understand it intellectually (which you have ). You can only understand it if you been persecuted pursued and worse for millennia. I am a child of Survivors - my Mother ob”m was an Auschwitz survivor. I could go on and on but all you have to do is extrapolate that Islam was from its onset a religion who forcibly converted the enemy (and all non Moslems are enemies) or else slaughtered them. Christianity was like that for millennia towards the Jews as well. The Holocaust did not happen in a religious vacuum. This is but a beginning to understand. If you’d like to read someone brighter than I am a real scholar read Eliezer Berkovits’ Faith After the Holocaust. But rest assured I and all the rest of Jews will fight this hate always so you’re in good company. You’re welcome to join us.

You lovely wonderful beautiful woman! Of course we’ll have you! We love and welcome everyone and anyone who stands with us to fight against baseless hatred and injustice, against us or against anyone. And you have already done so much. We’re so grateful and appreciative.

Btw, In Hebrew, the force that Christians translated as Satan is הַשָּׂטָן. HaSatan. It translates to "the adversary" or "the accuser". The "ha" (הַ) is a definite article, meaning "the" in Hebrew, and "satan" (שָׂטָן) is a noun derived from a verb meaning "to obstruct" or "to oppose". It is not a proper name, but rather a descriptive term for a specific role. Further, haSatan is not portrayed as the inherently evil figure of later Christian theology, but rather as an agent of God with a specific function, to test or obstruct, or accuse as in a court of law. This adversary is the protagonist in the story of Job, for example. It was the Christian imagination, especially the medieval imagination, that made it into the “devil” and “Satan”.

But yes, there is evil in the world. The Shoah and all the centuries of pogroms are examples, as are the genocides of other peoples like the Armenians, Rwandans, Cambodians and too many others.

Blessings, my dear Kelli. And thank you again for. 💙💙💙✡️✡️✡️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I'm glad it is all starting to make sense to you, Kelli. I went from atheism to Christianity at the age of twenty, and almost immediately I began to feel a deep connection to Israel and the Jewish people. A few years later I learned of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion and other antisemitic blood libels. I wonder as an aside, if you and I are approaching Truth from opposite ends: you have an abiding love for Israel which may be leading you to Christ, while I started with Jesus.

Now we appear to be witnessing a worldwide alliance of political (Leftist/Totalitarian) and religious (Islamist) forces joining against Jews and Christians. To me it feels like awaking to a Nightmare.

I think Melanie Phillips has it about right in her book "The Builders Stone": The West can only be saved by an alliance of Jews and Christians. The searing logic of Douglas Murray is always encouraging as well.

You might also find "People of the Lie" to be helpful. The author is a psychiatrist who embarked on a clinical study of human Evil, and he concluded that one thing evil personalities have in common is fixation on a scapegoat, sometimes a family member. It is a very disturbing book, I warn you.

Jews are the historical scapegoat, as you have already noted.

I will pray that you have the courage to surrender to Faith, which requires a choice, an act of the will, not merely the intellect. (You have more than your share of intelligence.)

"Mere Christianity" may also answer your questions. It has been an invaluable guide to intelligent, open minded skeptics for decades.

Thank you I will look into both of those. I’ve always been a big fan of Jesus. His teachings resonate with me more than any other I think, but I’ve always struggled with the confines of organised religion. But maybe that is irrelevant, just my own mind keeping me separate. I definitely have an open mind. But yes it has certainly been a journey!!

I don't like "organized religion" either. I have never joined a church though I attend worship services, and I have never registered with a political party though I vote. When I started reading the Bible, I didn't know what a Gospel was, or that there were four of them.

There are certain advantages to growing up in a non religious home.

I will second Michael's recommendation of Lewis’ “Mere Christianity". Seeing as how you are a rational and moral person, I think it might resonate with you. Lewis' fiction, both “The Chronicles of Narnia “ and “The Space Trilogy” have also been very helpful to my faith. The final Narnia book, “The Last Battle”, deals with falsehood and deception in the final battle between good and evil at the end of time. And the Space Trilogy deals with how even the modern scientific and technological mindset can ecome conduits for the demonic.

Outstanding article! I cannot recall reading anything that makes such a cogent case for the metaphysics of antisemitism. I have not believed in the God of the Bible (just a “higher power”) since I was a boy, but the mind boggling reality we are currently living through is causing me to question my skepticism.

PS - and I too would be honored to fight along side the Jewish people.

I think about this every day. I have been thinking about false gods and how the notion is really the glorification of evil. A false god requires the wrong things: lies, murder, the suffering of the poor, the suffering of women.

I have been having visions and painting about this great conflict since 2021. Since the Gaza War started I've been watching people sadistically cheering at Jewish suffering, spreading lies and agitating for more and more violence, people who would be destroyed by the very regime they support. I've been thinking about the Jewish concept of angels as energies that come to earth to effect changes on behalf of God.

Jewish angels are not like Christian angels, they're not sweet fluffy things with harps. They're all business, they have one and only one job to do, they get to it straightaway, and then they're gone. They're like a beam of light that switches on, then switches off.

But they're not light. They're energies. I think about how in the far East, they discovered that the life force energy *qi* can be thrown, it's directed through breath and *intention*. I think of angels as energies of God's intentions thrown to earth, to do their work.

I've been thinking of the concept of the Angel of Destruction, which is not an evil creature; rather, the Angel of Destruction just destroys what has to go to make room for the new. I think we're gearing up for a massive conflagration. When I read the Nevi'im (Prophets) last year, I was struck by how some of the end times prophesies sounded like our current situation. I don't remember if it was Isaiah or Jeremiah or Enoch or Habbakuk; I'd have to read them all over again to find the text, but we're there, all nations embracing evil and rising up against Israel.

We are lucky to have your support but I think your support is about you, not about the Jews; you just want to be on the side of God, not the Devil, and anyone must applaud that.

Christian angels actually aren't fluffy and sweet either. That's a distorted popularization of them from certain artworks and pop culture that is very common but in the New Testament they are often portrayed as fierce and terrifying.

In the gospels, the angels that appear at the tomb during Christs resurrection terrify the Roman soldiers guarding it. In the book of Revelation, the apostle John actually falls to the ground to worship an angel that appears to him but is rebuked by the angel. Revelation also includes angelic beings with four faces including those of a lion, an eagle, a calf, and a man, and during the narrative of that book, angels pour out the bowls of God's wrath in the judgement of the earth.

Kelli, I have a wonderful non-Jewish friend who has been telling me this since Oct. 7. His Christianity speaks to exactly what you have revealed here and at first I didn't resonate with it. That was then. Now I actually wonder exactly what you do. Normally (depending upon whom you ask) I am a rational, down to earth person. But nothing in my lived experience explains any of what we are now experiencing. I am trending towards the metaphysical as well since there doesn't appear to be any rational explanation for the global outburst of venomous Jew-hatred erupting everywhere at the same time. And how we Jews have lost our allies, our friends, those who we always expected loved and cared for us, respected us and would walk with us as we have with them. Oh well. Thanks for your post. I somehow have missed, are you not Jewish then? Or am I mistaken? If you are not, you are now an Honorary MOT, Member of the Tribe, most welcome!
