Years of peace has made the West weak. Israel has never had that luxury. Israel cannot afford to lose a single war — every battle is existential. They understand more than anyone the risk of living next door to neighbours who seek to eradicate them.
Ever since the Islamic Republic of Iran through one of their proxies Hamas invaded Southern Israel, the world has urged Israel to use caution and restraint. Bleeding hearts have ruled instead of strong leadership, which has done nothing but drag out the conflict further and arguably put the hostages at further risk.
The only way to effect lasting peace is to defeat the enemy conclusively with absolute victory. They need to be decimated, forced to acknowledge the full consequences of their decision to continually attack Israel. And unfortunately, Gazan civilians wear those consequences — ramifications that are entirely the responsibility of the Ayatollah Khamenei, the mullahs of Tehran and the leadership group of Hezbollah and Hamas.
Israel need to ensure that this is the last war with Hamas. No more pulling back.
“Every single time Israel is made to fight wars it is not allowed to win… Every single time, because the international community, including American administrations, tried to stop them and did stop them before the moment of victory. There was an Israeli politician and General who I spoke with early on in this conflict, who said, I had the opportunity to snuff our Hamas entirely in 2010, and I was pulled back by my government at the demand of the American government and the international community.”
— Douglas Murray (interview with Bari Weiss, Honestly).
The idea that Israel, after decimating Hamas and Hezbollah, and razing half of Gaza, should then be asked to come to the table to negotiate a two state solution or make concessions to the Palestinians is ludicrous. In no world should murderous terrorists be rewarded with a State. Offering state after state after state to the Palestinians is not the answer. It has not worked before, and it will not work now.
Countries are not seven year old children who need to be molly coddled with ‘participation’ awards. The enemies of civilised societies need to know that if they initiate murderous campaigns on their neighbours and slaughter thousands of innocent people, they will pay a very high price. Absolute defeat is the best deterrent to trying that shit again.
Imagine for a moment, that the Allies had been urged to deescalate against the Germans. We won’t crush the Nazis, we will just cripple them a little, then give them back all their land, give them a seat at the United Nations table, then continue giving them billions of dollars in aid for their troubles. If you think that is absurd, you are right — it is.
In Japan it was only after the catastrophic decimation of Hiroshima and Nagasaki that they surrendered and the war was over. The effects of the atomic bombs were so horrific it has served as a deterrent world-over ever since. Nobody denies the tragedy of the lost lives, or the humanitarian crisis that followed in Japan. Yet it brought the war to an end — they surrendered, they accepted they had lost. And through the ashes, a new Japan was built — the United States led the Allies in the occupation and rehabilitation of the Japanese state. On September 8, 1951 the U.S. – Japan Security Treaty, which brought Japan into a military alliance with the United States was signed. Japan today is a thriving metropolis, a democratic country, with a GDP in 2024 of $4.1 trillion. They don’t claim refugee status, and they are not still playing victim to the atrocities that took place during the war. They got on with it.
War is hell — people die. The aim in war is to cause as much damage as you can to the enemy and force them into a surrender, or if there is no surrender — total destruction. You do not win a war by placating the enemy and minimising the damage. It is a ridiculous suggestion. Those suggesting a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, without the total surrender of Hamas and the return of the hostages are living in La La land.
The people of Gaza need to understand that there are severe consequences to invading Israel and slaughtering their people. There are consequences to aiding and abetting the abduction and imprisonment of hostages. Consequences to electing a terrorist group to govern your people. Dire consequences. The cycle of attacking Israel needs to stop. And it’s not going to stop if the international community continue to pressure Israel to pull back.
Does anyone expect Russia to give back the territories to Ukraine if they win their war? Of course they don’t. So why the double standard?
The world needs to ‘harden the fuck up’ as we say in Australia. Because those who want to take away our freedoms have no qualms in punching below the belt. We are dealing with adversaries who control their very own people with extreme violence and take a gleeful pleasure in the maximum destruction of their enemies — us.
We need to stop urging caution. Stop hamstringing Israel with ridiculous ICC and United Nations accusations. It is perceived weakness by our enemies that got the world into this precarious position. Now is the time to show force.
War takes a huge toll on countries. Women, children and innocent civilians become collateral damage. Infrastructure is destroyed, supply chains are weakened causing food, job shortages, housing and medical shortages. Not to mention the physical and psychological harms that the death and destruction cause. Which is all the more reason not to initiate a war against a nation with far superior military capabilities than you.
Unless the current conflict in Gaza ends with the absolute surrender of Hamas and an acceptance by people of Gaza, any resolution is just a temporary downing of weapons, while the Islamic Republic of Iran regroup and rearm. And the cycle of violence will continue. As with the Allies in World War II, the Nazi ideology needed to be destroyed and dismantled — as does the Jihadist ideology in the region that has continually threatened Israel and civilised society for decades.
We will not achieve normalisation between the Arab countries and Israel through diplomatic hand holding alone. It’s been attempted many times. Our enemies understand deterrence, strength and power. And sometimes violence is required. Evil doesn’t play by the rules. It’s time we toughened up.

The "Western world" has mysteriously forgotten that it's the **victors** who dictate the terms of surrender to the vanquished, not the other way around - which is what the US administration seems to be advocating for.
There was a survey in the UK asking young people if they were called up would they fight for their country and most of them said ‘no .. why would I ? What am I fighting for this county for ?’ .. shocker .. not ..they are not patriotic or proud of the UK and are so far removed from reality that they do not realise that how we live in the west is not a given or a right and we must fight .. fight for it ..going down the pub for a pint is not a given .. getting your nails done is not a given .. booking your hen weekend is not a given .. but the Israeli kids know it ..they are living it ..that is why even after surviving the Nova music festival when they arrived home they put their uniforms straight on and ran into Gaza … I do not have much hope for the west
